| Employee Development Intern Open to Upper-level Undergraduate Students Location: Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Shakopee MCF-Shakopee is the only prison in Minnesota for adult females offenders who have been committed to the Commissioner of Corrections. Offender population is approximately 500, which includes all custody levels. Gender-specific programming with an emphasis on restorative justice and building offender competencies is a priority. Internship Description: Interns will work in the Employee Development Department which provides training to approximately 225 staff. Staff are required to have 40 hours of varied training annually, including security-related courses and personal development courses. The intern would be involved in the day to day operations of the Employee Development Unit, including planning on-going training, contracting, developing lesson plans, evaluating facility needs, conducting training on specific topics, new staff orientation, and working with individual need areas. The facility has a computer lab for teaching computer skills to staff. Supervision: Intern will be supervised by the Employee Development Supervisor. Requirements: Interns should be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a program which offers course credit for internships. Interns should have course work in education, management, human relations, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, computers, or human resources.
