Safety and Health Officer Intern Location: Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault Internship Description: The intern will assist in providing professional and technical services to the Safety and Health Office. Participate in ensuring health and safety standards are maintained by OSHA standards, NFPA Life Safety codes, Health Department standards, and Department of Corrections policies and procedures. Become involved in activities throughout the facility such as, inspections, incident investigation, and staff training. Supervision: Interns will be supervised by the Safety and Health Administrator. Requirements: The intern must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a program which offers course credit for internships. Interns should have completed introductory course work in occupational safety and health, industry safety/loss control, accident investigation, control and prevention of accidents, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste and risk management. Intern must clear a security background check and follow department policies and procedures.
