Corrections Program Therapist 1 – Sex Offender Treatment

Salary Range:  $16.97 to $24.61 per hour; $35,433 to $51,386 per year

** Positions may be eligible for the Corrections Employee Retirement Program **

Work Locations:  Positions may occur at Minnesota Correctional Facilities located in Faribault, Lino Lakes (Twin Cities Suburbs-North), Moose Lake/Willow River, Oak Park Heights, Red Wing, Rush City, St. Cloud, Shakopee, Stillwater, and Togo.

Job Duties:  Under supervision, provide sex offender treatment services for offenders in a sex offender treatment program, including the responsibility to provide security, assessment, education, and therapeutic programming.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Behavioral Science or Social Science program.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic knowledge of sex offender treatment methods and practices.

Training or experience in providing behavioral health treatment, including individual and group therapy methods and practices.

Knowledge of professional, legal and ethical standards; best practices; and community standards of care.

Skills in verbal and written communication, including proficient documentation skills.
 
Interpersonal/human relations skills.

Basic personal computer skills.

Ability to formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; provide sex offender treatment; and develop a continuing care plan under supervision.

Ability to teach a psycho-educational course; effectively function within a multi-disciplinary team; exercise sound judgment; and demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Behavioral Science or Social Science program.
